Consists of over 500 drawings by Caldecott including drawings and studies for book and magazine illustrations, sketchbooks, and drawings not firmly linked to any known publication. Contains designs for relief panels, friezes and oil paintings; figures and landscape drawings; portraits; botanical, animal and costume studies; cartoons; watercolors; designs for bookcovers; and greeting cards. Also includes illustrated manuscript letters, scrapbooks, an American Library Association Caldecott Medal, and a self-portrait sketch in oil by Caldecott.
